Biography

Morro BayMorgan retired in the Texas Hill Country in 2003 after a 45 year management career which included numerous assignments in the west and southwest regions of the United States. Although his career took him on an unrelated path to art, his love of art started at an early age where in West Texas he received his first formal art training prior to entering high school. As a result of his college training in architectural engineering and industrial design and after graduation working in the aerospace industry as a tech illustrator, he further developed and improved on his current style of artistic realism. Living in Arizona, Nevada and New Mexico during a portion of his professional work career and thus experiencing the scenic beauty of that region inspired him to further develop his sketching and painting style. His art at this point however, continued primarily for personal enjoyment although he did exhibit in southwest art shows.
Since retiring and making a commitment to full time sketching and painting, Morgan has remained focused on southwest subject matter including ranching activities, small picturesque communities and interesting scenery. He is however, actively exploring other geographic regions to give variety and strength to his portfolio.
Morgan and his wife Gina live in Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas.
